HOW TO IDENTIFY THE MULTIPLES OF 9

Finding the multiples of 9 is very simple. for example, we can take 1809.
Add the four digits of the number, i.e.,

1+8+0+9

=18

We have got a two digit number. So, we further add those two digits:

1+8

=9

Now, as we got 9 as the sum, 1809 is a multiple of 9. We can check whether it is right or not by dividing 1809/9 in the usual method.

If we take the first 10 multiples of 9, we can see this clearly:

Here, what we see is the same thing as we saw in the case of 1809.

So, in general, to find the multiples of 9, check whether the sum of the digits is 9. This is a shortcut method to find whether a number is a multiple of 9.
